Janice Maly wins in a landslide - thanks voters

Posted on Nov 8, 2005

Councilwoman Janice Maly was elated this evening after she learned that she was re-elected to another 3 year term.

Maly defeated her opponent, Mike Napolitano in each of the eleven districts in her ward, ending up with over 2,100 votes. Napolitano received approximately 1,000 votes.

Maly told a standing room only crowd, "I thank each and every person that exercised their right to vote in today's election. I am honored that the residents of the First Ward appreciated my record of accomplishment by giving me another term. I am also very pleased that New Jersey voters approved Public Question # 2 which would force certain diesel vehicles to be modified in order to reduce emmissions. I promise to continue to be the voice of all first ward residents. I wish Mike Napolitano all the best in his future endeavors. If he has any ideas that will benefit the citizens of the first ward, I am wiling to listen."

Maly continued, "I thank all of my supporters who worked so diligently on my behalf. Your hard work and the long hours you put in are much appreciated. Without you, this victory would not have been possible. With the campaign behind me, I can now go back to devoting all of my attention to solving the problems of the first ward - that starts tomorrow."
